Hi! I am Jayne Lusty, owner and lifestyle photographer of Plain Jayne Photography. Not in any of my dreams, including being a photographer, did I think, I would be writing. So meeting you here is a bit of a surprise for me, too. Matt and I have been married for 14 years, and he is the love of my life. I hit the jackpot in the husband department. Truly, HE is the reason I began to pursue photography in the first place. If you’re reading this Matt, thank you for being you, for your kind soul, and never ending love and support. I love you.

I am a mom to three feral boys, and one sweet girl, our little caboose. As I sit at my desk writing (wishing it wasn’t too late for a cup of coffee), the feral trio, is playing baseball across the hall in the game room…Yes, apparently baseball can be an indoor sport. I am sure it won’t be long and one of those strikes will be pegging me, and their laughter will fill the whole house – who can be mad about that? Not me. That is just a glimpse into our wildness, and I know I am not alone!

I have been capturing my family and close friends portraits for 8 years. It is something that brings me so much joy. In the last 3 years I have really focused on sharpening my skills in order to offer premium quality photography to more than just family and friends. I can’t wait to share this love of mine with you, and so Plain Jayne Photography was born. If you’ve met me, you probably heard me refer to myself as plain Jayne, but we all know, that’s not true! Ha! I can’t wait for you meet more of me throughout this blog, and you’ll see – Plain Jayne isn’t so plain. hope you’re all buckled in for what an amazing space this blog will be for all of us!

How did it all start you ask?

Remember that jackpot of a hubby I landed? Yep – that’s how! The year was 2017, and the version of me was a newly postpartum mom who couldn’t stop capturing every moment of our son’s life, maybe a little because I was a new mom, but more so because I didn’t want to forget a thing. “A picture is worth a 1,000 words”, right? To me, it is. And each one has a story woven through them.

My husband surprised me that Christmas with my first Nikon camera (D7100), with the help of my best friend, and photographer, in Tennessee. Jenn with Jennuine Photography. I am forever grateful for your input. If you live in Spring Hill, TN of surrounding area – check her out – incredible human.

Matt said “I know how much you love taking pictures of our son now you can take really nice ones!” My how I loved that camera, and deepened my love for photography with it.

If you’ve stuck it out with me this long – thank you! I’m happy you’re here. I look forward to blogging every portrait session for you to be a part of. Your story shared, and a place for you to look back on that chapter anytime you wish. I hope to help potential clients see a glimpse of what their time with me could look like, too. I want to share relevant information for families, local small business finds, and simple everyday life with my little circus.

I love capturing families, maternity/motherhood, and newborns, but I am always excited to get a call to do something outside of my comfort zone. I’ve photographed pets, horses, and litters of puppies for sale – all have been fun!
